What do these report terms mean? (click to expand)
Projected Equalization Factor
A multiplier designed to bring the median level of assessments to 33.33% if no individual changes to assessments are made during the current year. By state law, it is based on a three-year sales-ratio study.
Certification Date
The date the Township Assessor certified the year's assessment roll to the County Supervisor of Assessments.
Final Equalization Factor
A multiplier designed to bring the median level of assessments to 33.33% after all individual changes to assessments have been made during the current year.
Notice Date
The date on the notices mailed to taxpayers. By state law, notices are mailed to all taxpayers whose assessments were changed from the prior year unless the only change was a township-wide equalization factor.
Publication Date
The date the notice of assessment changes is published in a local newspaper.
Deadline Date
The last day an assessment complaint can be filed with the Kane County Board of Review for property in a specific township.
